Lead Engineers

Steve Landau

VP of Controls and Automation at SPEC, has the unique capacity to view problems from several different angles in order to supply well-suited solutions. For fifteen years, Steve has worked as a plant designer and and manager of his team at SPEC Process Engineering & Construction. He has encountered ventures in a diverse array of industries, all the while accumulating expertise in a number of manufacturing engineering fields. Steve heads up his team of experts, coordinating their use of collaborative knowledge to master project solutions related to facility issues, equipment specification and purchasing, electrical design, hazardous area classification and controls systems design and integration.

Alex Pawlowski

Before working for SPEC as a process engineer in 2000, Alex Pawlowski was previously employed by Gillette as an R&D engineer. Within his first four years at SPEC, Alex quickly excelled to become a project manager. Currently, after nine years at SPEC, Alex’s proficiency has expanded to encompass a broad range of departments within the field of engineering.

Carlos Pascoal

Carlos Pascoal has worked as Senior Process Engineer at Massachusetts-based firm SPEC Engineering for over four years. He is highly competent in executing detailed process design, support and commissioning with such clients as, Aspen Aerogels, BAE, E-Ink, and Saint Gobain. Before joining SPEC and Equipment Genius, Carlos was a project engineer for Foster-Miller, Inc. His focus was on advanced polymer materials and alternative fuel development. In total, he has over 9 years of experience in the engineering, design, and construction of chemical and industrial processes.

 

Management

Bob Hubert, Co-Founder, Head Evangelist

Heading up Equipment Genius is SPEC Engineering's President, Bob Hubert. Mr. Hubert is a steadfast proponent of quality work, and oversees all of SPEC’s client projects to ensure that they are completed according to the highest standards. Bob Hubert also manages all administrative and financial matters; his extensive experience in contract management and budget control is an asset to every SPEC business endeavor.

Matt Boynton, Managing Director

Matt Boynton is the Managing Director of Equipment Genius. With a background in the Boston startup community and strong experience in launching websites and service businesses, he is managing the people and resources that are building Equipment Genius into the best online resource for process equipment buyers. He lives in Boston and holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Babson College.

Richard Banfield - Co-Founder, VP Marketing

Richard Banfield, CEO of Fresh Tilled Soil, is a seasoned expert in internet technology and business marketing. Alex Fedorov, Co-Founder, Web & Creative Director

Alex Fedorov, Co-Founder of Fresh Tilled Soil, lives and breathes clean, simple web design. He helped found Boston Web Agency Fresh Tilled Soil is 2005 with Richard Banfield, and has since designed and coded hundreds of websites with an amazing team he continues to work with daily. Attracted to web issues such as User Experience, Interaction and best practice, Alex has designed and constructed the Equipment Genius website, and is excited by the prospect of making it dead simple for users to procure process engineering equipment online.
